your first visit
There is never a charge for your initial consultation. The initial consultation includes a comprehensive examination, a panelipse x-ray, review of the clinical diagnosis, and a detailed discussion by Dr. Sekijima of your treatment options with the benefits of each. Dr. Sekijima will also estimate treatment time, costs, and type of braces or other orthodontic appliances. For your convenience, if treatment is indicated, diagnostic records can often be taken on the same day.
These records include digital facial and dental photos, digital x-rays, and plaster study models. We will use copies of x-rays from your dentist when possible. Records are used to develop a custom treatment plan for each patient and are also helpful in tracking the progress of treatment as the teeth move during orthodontic care.
The appointment to place your appliances, which may include, an expander, headgear, space maintainer, or braces, usually takes from 30 minutes to 90 minutes. You will then be seen at regular intervals 1 to 8 weeks apart for an adjustment, which will take 10 to 20 minutes.
